Work Packages

• Work Package 1 : Scope Definition
  The objectives of this work package are to:
  • Define the supply chain model that will be used in the development phase of the best practices for the different phases in the lifetime of a product or product family, and the different corresponding software components, as well for the validation of these developed best practices through simulation.
  • Define the real life environment that will be used in the integration phase of the different developed software components for real life application assessment, as well as for the validation of the best practices through real life application.
  • Define and gather a real life data set that is the basis for a quantitative approach in the development of the best practices in Work package 2 and for the simulations in Work package 4
    
• Work Package 2 : Best Practice Development
  In order to achieve the development of best practices in supply chain planning, this work package has defined the following objectives:
  • Define an optimisation model that determines an optimal cycle for each of the supply chain nodes during a maturity phase of the product life cycle.
  • Develop the best practice in supply chain control during an introduction phase and end-of-life phase of the product life cycle.
  • Develop the best practice in a smooth switching form an introduction phase of the product life cycle to its maturity phase.
    
• Work Package 3 : Software Development
  The objectives of this work package are twofold:
  • Create the technical optimisation components.
  • Create the end-user application that will be implemented later in the frame of work package 5 and that will contain these optimisation components.
    
• Work Package 4 : Best Practice Validation through Simulation
  This work package intends to reach the following objectives:
  • Develop the necessary simulation technology.
  • Validate the Best Practices developed in WP2 through simulation.
  • Get additional insights in the behaviour of the developed supply chain control models.
  • Build the business case for the real-life implementation.
    
• Work Package 5 : Best Practice Validation through Real Life Application
  In this WP, we will:
  • Implement the developed best practice concepts in a real-life environment.
  • Integrate the supporting software in the Huntsman and PLIVA-Lachema Diagnostika IT-environment.
  • Measure the benefits obtained.
  • Document the implementation issues.
    
• Work Package 6 : Exploitation and Dissemination
  The objectives of this sixth work package are to:
  • Start a spin-off for the commercial exploitation of the ECLIPS results.
  • Work the concepts developed into the own solution offering.
  • Share knowledge on the developed best practice principles with the wider European Industry.
